Why curvy women will always score above size-zero ones?

I have often hated the media/advertising industry for the manner in which they impact our mind, brainwash our sensibilities and make us believe not just an alternate view but its exact opposite, i.e. absolute lies. No, this article is not about how penetrative advertising campaigns can blunt the human brain. I say this simply to underline the fact that the beauty industry and media seem to have joined hands with the modeling and fashion world to peddle a sinisterly twisted image of beauty. Apart from a few handful women who have been able to make peace with their actual body image, most of them remain hooked on to this manufactured perception that thinness equals beautiful.

bidya balan

I present a personal, and hopefully insightful, opinion on what I perceive as a psychological and health deterrent to women across the world, believing that a peek into an average male’s psyche will help them realize the truth.

My Tryst With Women & Being Attracted To Them

I recall my first crush was in standard VIII, at a time when I had just entered the pubertal years. Like most guys my age in our only-boys school (tragically true), the center of my attraction and my first, true crush was one of our Science teachers. She wasn’t thin by the beauty benchmarks existing today and I recall being obsessed and nearly worshipping her curvy, very Asian figure. Yes, it might seem that this phase of hormonal crushes cannot be counted among educated opinions but I am merely trying to present a more comprehensible picture of how most men are drawn towards fuller, curvier women from the very beginning. To my utter disgust at that time, I found that I wasn’t her only admirer. Her fan club included nearly all my classmates and nearly another 200 students, counting up to the senior grades!
sonakshi sinha

Moving ahead, I have had a similar experience during my formal educational years and while working across different organizations. Nearly each guy I have known in a decade-and-a-half of observing, liking and sharing opinions about women, has indicated a clear liking for women who have bigger pouts, heavier busts, fuller cheeks and toned but slightly-curved thighs. It might seem like I am dissecting the female physique here but this is vital to help the female readers realize that men tend to yearn for them in their natural, un-dieted form and non-anorexic appearance.

In fact, I have known guys who have only dated girls who were a bit chubby! Their explanation for such nit-picking was rather simple and they were shockingly clear about their viewpoint, i.e. a bit of extra bodyweight meant that kisses were a lot rewarding and comforting, hugs felt a lot more gratifying and all over, they adored their ladies for eating without discriminating and measuring every bit of food served to them.

bidya balan

If you are a lady with a group of close, male friends who are honest with opinions, just ask them that between a Vidya Balan (or Scarlett Johansson) and a more fashionable and chic Posh Spice, who is more likely to arouse their erotic fantasies. Researchers across the world have repeatedly clarified that the sight of full-bodied women gives men a kind of mental high that is provided by illicit drugs or alcohol. Someone like a Kate Moss might seem like the eternal ramp queen but a Beyonce Knowles more likely to fire a guy’s fantasies. More proof in this regard comes for the ever-rising popularity of Kim Kardashian whose only claim to fame seems to be her curve-endorsing body.

Just like me, most men despise the wafer-like, skinny look equating it with being chronically obsessed with what is regarded as being progressive and having a skewed perception of one’s body image. Please note that I too don’t agree with bizarre theories of women with bigger hips being more fertile or healthier. I am simply trying to put forth an honest narrative that all men, at least those who are warm-blooded and don’t curb their natural instincts, have an inherent, in-born fondness for curvier women.

While a lady who is naturally svelte like Shilpa Shetty doesn’t need to bother about gaining/losing a few pounds, those who long for the skeletal look that Kareena Kapoor once sported, should seriously reconsider their priorities. So, if you are a lady and unless you want to become a male-repellant, why would you starve and torture yourself to attain a size zero figure? ‘Size Zero’ is precisely what it says, More Celebrity News

Ready: Movie review

Whistle-blowers rejoice! Salman is back and this time he's ditched his belt to fiddle inside his pant pockets (read: Dhinka Chika, in case you don't have a television set at home). The thing with Salman's films is that they're in a genre of their own. A genre that cannot be graded for the story, screenplay, performances or any other metric used to evaluate other films. They can just be enjoyed or suffered, depending upon the elasticity of your tolerance. I hope you would consider this vague disclaimer before reading this review and before going to watch this monsoon musical.

But you're on this page hoping to get an idea about this film, so let's get down to business. The film is about a spoilt brat called Prem (the 14th time Salman has used this as a screen name) and his annoyingly happy family. Prem's daddy, Rajveer Kapoor (Mahesh Manjrekar) has the memory of a goldfish and he constantly portrays his disability by making vulgar physical and oral gestures to describe anything he can't re-collect. Prem also has two uncles and aunts who live together with them in their sprawling mansion spanning across Thailand, Sri Lanka and Filmcity, Goregaon. There's also a random elderly neighbour who is invariable lurking about at the Kapoor household (the only way to get into the frame?).
Cast: Salman Khan, Asin, Arya Babbar, Paresh Rawal, Puneet Issar, Mahesh Manjrekar
Anyway, the film becomes a pickled mess when a girl on the run, Sanjana (Asin) lands up at the Kapoor residence, in the guise of Prem's prospective bride. Predictably, she wins everyone's hearts with her clichéd tactics (morning bhajans, respect for elders, disrespect for Prem etc). Now, Sanjana has a dark past and even darker relations, comprising a bevy of assorted villains from the past and present who flaunt every wig in the costume box. Some of them include, Bade Mama (Sharad Saxena), Chote Mama (Akhilendra Mishra), Bade Dada (Puneet Issar) and few other non-descript Bollywood henchmen.

In Hindi films, if the good doesn't reign over evil, it can atleast trick evil into switching sides. So, the Kapoors devise the most ridiculous plan (not even worth mentioning here) to get the Chaudharys (Sanjana's uncles) to indulge in some soul cleansing, beginning with chopping off their 'chotis' (the root of all evil?).

After several songs, excessive hamming and dialogues like "Iska koi resort nahin. Isse acha hain ki aap resort book karlo" and "In that case, mere paas aaja mere suitcase", you just want to dhinka chika yourself out of the movie hall. But the movie refuses to end, as unnecessary confusions and complications pile up and you wonder if there's enough reel left to clear it all up. Luckily, your prayers are answered as this movie ends like a school play, with the dim-witted criminals realizing they've wronged and swearing to mend their ways. Sigh.

'Dhinka Chika' will surely win enough whistles and 'Character Dheela' will leave many gasping. But if you're expecting a laugh-a-thon, then you're in the wrong movie. Salman gives in his 10 percent and packages it off with 200 percent confidence and style. Asin could surely get a chance to dub for the next Chip 'n' Dale film, in case her acting career doesn't fall in place.

When you exit this film, there will be little you will take away from it, apart from Salman's pocket-fiddling and bum rubbing dance moves. But then if Anees Bazmee was interested in making meaningful cinema, he would've demonstrated the same in "No Entry", "Welcome" or "Thank You". How about, "No, Thank You" for his next multi-starrer-no-brainer?

Cheryl Cole out of UK "X Factor" after U.S. hitch

British singer Cheryl Cole will not be appearing on the British version of "The X Factor", after reportedly being dropped from the upcoming U.S. launch of the popular TV talent show.

Reports surfaced last week that Cole, who rose to fame as a member of British girl band Girls Aloud, had been ditched from the new Fox television venture despite having had public backing from the show's creator and star judge Simon Cowell.

The reversal, which some news sites attributed to Cole's northern English accent which producers feared U.S. viewers may struggle to understand, dominated British and U.S. celebrity headlines, although it has yet to be officially confirmed.

British newspapers said that Cole, who they reported was furious at the U.S. snub, had been offered an "olive branch" of returning to the British edition of the show, which commands large audiences for broadcaster ITV.

But when the channel announced its judging lineup for the 2011 series on Monday, Cole's name did not feature.

Instead it will comprise music producer Louis Walsh, the only survivor from the 2010 panel, Take That lead singer Gary Barlow, hip-hop star Tulisa Contostavlos and U.S. singer and Destiny's Child founding member Kelly Rowland. The ITV announcement made no mention of Cole's possible involvement, and the news feed on her official website has not been updated since May 6, when she announced she would join Cowell and Antonio "L.A." Reid in judging the U.S. series.

Producers of the upcoming U.S. version of "The X Factor" again declined to comment on Tuesday on Cole's reported ouster. In the United States, former Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger is expected to replace Cole on the panel. Former "American Idol" judge Paula Abdul completes the judges' line-up.Source

Fine films but no knockouts mark one strange Cannes festival

This was a year of some strangeness in Cannes, of one major auteur being kicked out of town, another proving invisible and yet another -- one not allowed to work or travel from his native country -- sneaking his illicit new creation into France hidden in a loaf of bread.

Even if there were a number of very fine films, the 2011 festival arguably did not yield any absolute knockouts. The more elaborate works from the heavyweights in the competition -- Terrence Malick, Lars von Trier, Pedro Almodovar, Paolo Sorrentino, Nuri Bilge Ceylan -- were among the more contentiously debated, provoking reactions across the full spectrum of critical opinion.

It seemed to vaguely disappoint his most ardent longtime admirers and is far from perfect, but Malick's "The Tree of Life" remained the film that made the strongest impression on me throughout this 64th Cannes. Artistically risky and aesthetically beautiful, it made its points impressionistically through hundreds of visual and aural pin-pricks, and I'm quite keen to see it again. Brad Pitt is terrific in it, but it's the framing material, with Sean Penn playing Pitt's grown son who doesn't get to say or think a thing, that doesn't cut it. I'm willing to bet that, had a nonstar played the son, Malick -- who cut Adrian Brody out of "The Thin Red Line" -- might have eventually decided to eliminate this material entirely but could not without causing a contractual mess and ruining a relationship.

The high-art contingent seemed highest on Turkish virtuoso Ceylan's metaphysical thriller "Once Upon a Time in Anatolia," which I had to miss but many compared to a more abstracted "Zodiac," while we all grooved on the prolific Danish genre enthusiast "Refn's Drive," a sort of thinking fan's alternative to "Fast Five." I learned here from Refn's father, who is von Trier's longtime editor and sometime assistant director, that his son spent a good part of his teenage years frequently the now-extinct grindhouses on 42nd Street in New York City, which explains a few things and makes him something of a spiritual brother to Quentin Tarantino.

Back in form, the director said, because he's drinking again after having turned out disappointing work while sober, Kaurismaki delivered one of his most delightful films in the French-language "Le Havre," in which Andre Wilms reveals a resilient inner core to his author-turned-shoeshine man that recalls such long-ago leading men as Spencer Tracy, Humphrey Bogart and Jean Gabin. The modest and self-consciously artificial art direction also summons memories of movies past in this tale of determined selflessness and humanity.

Similar in its depiction of moments of grace and enlightenment, of an adult helping a child who has been cast to the elements, was Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne's very fine "The Kid With the Bike," in which decisive moments of change or elevated insight are marked with strains of classical music. There were funny stories circulating of the child actor Thomas Doret, impressed with actress Cecile de France's reports of Clint Eastwood preferring to do only one or two takes on "Hereafter," trying to get the famously demanding Dardennes to do the same and actually succeeding in one scene where he gets hit and knocked down.

Hazanavicius's "The Artist," an "A Star Is Born"-like Hollywood seriocomedy about a silent star's decline and an actress's ascent with the arrival of talking pictures, which was moved up from a noncompeting to a Competition slot just before the festival began, is nothing if not lovingly and conscientiously done with its use of black-and-white and silent film technique. The increasing feeling is that, if the Weinstein Co. handles it with the aggressiveness and enthusiasm for which it is known, the novelty of this cinephile's delight could make it into a one-off event for the wider public.

Another oddball film with some potential is Josef Cedar's "Footnote from Israel," a flawed but compelling father-son contest set in the rarefied but -- the way the film handles it -- hardly inaccessible world of Talmudic academia.

It was not to all tastes, but I enjoyed being transported into the exotic realm of Bertrand Bonello's "L'Apollonide (House of Tolerance)," which takes place entirely in a high-end Paris bordello in 1900, just the time when such establishments were being shut down. Titillating in a different way was Almodovar's "The Skin I Live In," in which a twisted Frankenstein's monster tale is airlifted into the era of advanced scientific breakthroughs, plastic surgery and sexual identity change. This might not be one of the Spanish master's best films, but his seductive craft alone makes it more than worth seeing.

The general feeling here is that von Trier was obviously goofing and not being sincere with his Nazi comments and was probably just trying, however misguidedly, to enliven a press conference that was starting to sag at that point. If you watch the video of the press conference and don't just read the transcribed words, it's quite clear that this was a film director's lame version of a comic trying desperately for a laugh that was never going to come; he just kept digging the hole deeper, and it might be some time before he can climb out of it, if he can at all. Which leaves the uneven but unavoidably compelling "Melancholia" in a precarious spot: Will distributors dump it? Will it be protested at film festivals? Will it be harder for von Trier to find the money for his projected next film, the hardcore "The Nymphomaniac?" That's what he's worried about.

Similarly erratic was Sorrentino's nutty, sometimes funny, other times madly misguided "This Must Be the Place," in which you can't take your eyes off Penn playing a 50-year-old goth rocker who's been hiding in an Irish mansion for 20 years before taking off on a road trip in an America that's unknown to him.

Lynne Ramsay's "We Need to Talk About Kevin" is a very well made but maddeningly obvious study of a family which includes a teenage mass-killer-to-be, while Maiwenn's "Polisse," quite liked even by some highbrow critics in France, has a souped energy but feels like multiple TV episodes crammed into one overflowing pot.

The films I found perhaps the least rewarding in the Competition this year were Julia Leigh's "Sleeping Beauty" from Australia and, surprisingly, Takashi Miike's "Hara-kiri: Death of a Samurai," which, unlike last year's "13 Samurai," I found hopelessly ponderous and without a shred of relevance to a modern audience.

As for the film sneaked into Cannes in a loaf of bread, it was "This Is Not a Film," a brave and unique document from the front represented by Jafar Panahi's Tehran apartment, where he is waiting to see if he will be sent to jail. In the meantime, having been banned by Iran from making films for the next 20 years, he recorded thoughts, snippets from a proposed film and telltale sounds and images of things going on in the city beyond his windows, with a home video camera -- hence, it is not really a movie -- and managed to get them to the outside world, which will surely, deservedly and thankfully see them at numerous film festivals in the coming months. Is a Wedding Next for Prince Harry and Chelsy Davy?

Now that Prince William and Kate Middleton have officially tied the knot, all eyes are Prince Harry and girlfriend Chelsy Davy. Could the younger prince be following in his brother's footsteps and heading down the aisle soon?

Though the pair had a tumultuous relationship in the past, many believe that Harry, 26, is ready to make a commitment with Davy, 25."Harry told Chelsy he's ready to settle down for good with her and make things official," an insider revealed in the latest issue of Life & Style, on newsstands now.

The couple, who met in 2004 and split last September, rekindled their romance just in time for last month's Royal Wedding. Though rumors of Harry's infidelity and "bad boy" antics have caused problems in their relationship, friends of the couple say the prince has changed for the better.

"Harry has been accused of cheating on her in the past [which he's denied], and her friends at the time told her to ditch him because he was bad news. But now it's the opposite," a friend told the magazine, adding that the prince has talked to Davy's friends in hopes of convincing her he's different now.

Many attribute the change in Harry's behavior to his new military career and the fact that he's outgrown his youthful antics.

"Over the last 12 months, we've seen a massive shift in Harry's character," Katie Nicholl, author of 'The Making of a Royal Romance,' told Life & Style. "He's settled down a lot more -- he's not falling out of nightclubs. He takes his military career incredibly seriously and has changed his lifestyle."

But those hoping for another Royal Wedding spectacle in the near future will be disappointed. Whenever Price Harry decides to pop the question and walk down the aisle, one thing is for sure: it will be a much smaller occasion. Because Harry isn't the heir to the British throne, he and his betrothed will have fewer rules and customs to follow.

"As the spare heir, Harry wouldn't be under the same pressure as his brother to have a big public wedding," Nicholl said, noting that a more low-key affair at Windsor Castle would be a likely option, whenever the time comes.

Nicole Scherzinger Tapped as 'X Factor' Host?

The guessing game for 'The X Factor' continues to pick up speed and now it's the question as to who will host Simon Cowell's talent competition. While nothing is official, sources close to the show reveal it's likely that former Pussycat Dolls lead singer Nicole Scherzinger will be 'The X Factor' host.

According to PEOPLE, Scherzinger will join judges Antonio "L.A." Reid and Cowell himself on the U.S. version of the hit U.K. show, with the third judging slot yet to be filled.

Cowell appeared on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS FM radio show in March and dished about Scherzinger, saying, "I absolutely adore her. She's gorgeous and ruthlessly ambitious."

The former Pussycat Doll appeared on the U.K.'s 'The X Factor' last summer as a guest judge and wowed members of the U.K. show. Fellow judge Louis Walsh praised Scherzinger, saying, "This girl has the X Factor in every way. She was incredibly impressive and ticked every box."

There's no word on whether or not Scherzinger will have a co-host on the U.S. show, but Cowell has hinted he'd like two hosts, as opposed to Seacrest's solo 'American Idol' gig. Source

Justin Timberlake: Friends With Benefits Concept Is a 'Bad Idea' in Reality

Justin Timberlake may be promoting his new flick 'Friends With Benefits' but the star admitted on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' that the reality of the concept often ends badly.

"It's a really good idea until it becomes a bad idea. It probably becomes a bad idea really fast," he said.

According to RadarOnline.com, Timberlake and his co-star Mila Kunis dropped by a taping of the daytime talk show to discuss the premise of their new movie where their characters decide to hook up without the constraints of a relationship.

"I think that everybody could probably agree with us when we say, that if you're going to be intimate with someone at some point somebody's going to feel something," Timberlake said of the concept, though Kunis remained quiet on the topic.

Timberlake, who recently split with longtime girlfriend Jessica Biel, has been brushing off rumors that he's been hooking up with Kunis and his 'Now' co-star Olivia Wilde.

Lindsay Lohan Sentenced to 120 Days in Jail

Lindsay Lohan was sentenced to 120 days in county jail on Friday for violating her probation, TMZ.com reports. She was taken directly from the courtroom to the courthouse for booking.

After reducing Lindsay Lohan's grand theft case from a felony to a misdemeanor following a day of testimony over a reported stolen necklace, Judge Stephanie Sautner determined the actress violated her probation from a 2007 DUI arrest and was sentenced to jail. She was also ordered to complete 480 hours of community service.

Lohan's lawyer, Shawn Holley, immediately filed a notice of appeal and bail was set at $75,000.

As for the case, Judge Sautner decided not to dismiss it altogether but said "I'm going to give her an opportunity" to prove her innocence in a trial.

Deputy District Attorney Danette Meyers called four witnesses to make her case that Lohan should be tried for a felony, including the owner of the store where Lohan is accused of theft.

The actress turned down a pair of plea bargain offers in the necklace theft case recently.

Sofia Kaman, the owner of Kamofie & Co., testified on Friday that Lohan stole a $2,500 necklace from her store on Jan. 22. She told Judge Sautner that Lohan had been coming into the store all week to look at items, but never bought anything. She waited to report the necklace stolen because the actress had said she'd be back in a day to buy something else.

After a police report was filed, authorities reportedly waited until she was photographed wearing the necklace before deciding to pursue charges. A friend of the actress turned the necklace in to the Pacific Division of the LAPD on Feb. 2.

Lohan claims that the necklace was loaned to her -- and that her stylist simply forgot to return it in time. Kaman says she did not have any agreement with Lohan allowing her to leave the store with the necklace.

Lohan's lawyer Shawn Holley and Kaman got testy at times during the hearing. At one point, Holley noted that Lohan was baring a lot of cleavage that day and questioned why Kaman didn't notice the necklace dangling above it.

"I wasn't looking at her chest," Kaman said. "I was looking at her face."

At another point, Holley accused Kaman of profiting off the incident. "Celebrity sells right?" she asked the store owner, according to TMZ. She reportedly replied, "It can." Kaman also denied selling a surveillance tape that was later released.

Judge Sautner warned both Kaman and Holley to be more respectful.

Lohan was officially charged during a hearing on Feb. 9. After pleading not guilty, Judge Keith Schwartz lanced into the actress for not taking the charges seriously. "If you violate the law again, I will remand you with no bail," he told her. "Things will be different."

The actress, who remains on probation in a 2007 drunken driving case, is accused of taking the necklace roughly three weeks after she was released from three months of court-ordered rehab at the Betty Ford Center.

The judge who initially handled the necklace theft case has said he thinks Lohan violated the terms of her release, but has assigned the preliminary hearing to Judge Sautner, who could send Lohan to jail after Friday's hearing if she determines there is enough evidence to support the probation violation. Newsmakers join pop stars on Time 100 list

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Previously unknown newsmakers from Egypt and Japan joined pop stars and politicians on Time magazine's list of 100 most influential people in the world released on Thursday.

The list includes pop culture giants such as Justin Bieber and Oprah Winfrey plus the lesser known Wael Ghonim, an Egyptian Internet activist who helped topple President Hosni Mubarak, and Takeshi Kanno, a Japanese doctor who refused to leave behind victims of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.

"We've always, always tried to tell stories through people. ... We discovered it was a fantastic way to get people to think about what's going on all over the world," said Time Deputy Managing Editor Michael Elliott.

The complete list can be seen on http://www.time.com.

World leaders such as British Prime Minister David Cameron, French President Nicolas Sarkozy, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff populate the list for how they have wielded power.

"The first time I met David Cameron, I knew we were political soul mates," actor and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger wrote in a profile for Time, calling him "a centrist who avoids the gutters of politics."

Others include Gabrielle Giffords, the American congresswoman who survived a bullet wound to the head during a gunman's rampage in Arizona, and Michele Bachmann, the Republican congresswoman from Minnesota who has energized the anti-tax, anti-spending Tea Party movement.

Jailed Chinese artist Ai Weiwei was honored for his "bravery and artistic skill," Elliott said.

From the world of sport, Argentina soccer phenomenon Lionel Messi was joined by Indian cricket star Mahendra Singh Dhoni, whose charisma and leadership united an ethnically diverse team that won the World Cup.

South Korean pop star Rain won The People's Choice vote for the third straight year. Time editors chose the names on the list except for The People's Choice, selected by online voters.

"He has very determined fans," Elliott said.

Kareena ready to tie the knot!

It's been a while, but Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan seem to be going strong. Kareena seems to have marriage on the brain. “I do not have marriage plans right now but yes, like other girls, I also want to get married. I will soon be a bride but before that, I will let everyone know about it. I do not have any traditional jewellery with me to wear at my wedding. My mom has given some of it to Karisma, but not to me because she feels I am not responsible! She sees me too busy with my work and feels that I cannot handle it well, but I wish to get it soon,” says Kareena.
She describes the rivalry between the sisters. “Since childhood Karisma and I have treasured small pieces of jewellery for our weddings. My dream is to wear a big diamond necklace on my wedding with a red and green outfit. It will be a big day for me,” she says excitedly.

Kareena also wishes she received more gifts. “I do not receive many gifts. I would love to have a big diamond necklace as a gift on my wedding,” she says, and already has a mental map of wedding plans. She says, “I would like to keep my wedding simple. I love the food and drink at the wedding; that day I will forget all about size zero and enjoy every bit of it!”
She shares a secret about Indian brides. “Indian brides want to be seen as more beautiful and attractive than any other guest at the party. The bride always pays more attention to what she wears and what others wear, rather than the groom -- the groom becomes her second option that day! She begins to compete with the other girls,” smiles Kareena. Well, she's obviously given this much thought. Hope everyone on her guest list is picking out presents!.

Angelina Jolie's New Tattoo Sparks Adoption Rumors

An additional line to an existing tattoo has sparked rumors that Angelina Jolie may be adopting another child.
Wonderwall is reporting that Jolie was on a goodwill trip to the Tunisia-Libya border recently where she was visiting with refugees, when a photograph showed a new set of map coordinates on her arm, just beneath the six tattoos of coordinates of the birthplaces of her six children.

This lead to the online rumors that Jolie may be planning to adopt another child. While the coordinates are difficult to make out in its entirety, the first part of the tattoo read '35 degrees north' which could possibly indicate Algeria.

But PEOPLE are reporting that a source close to Jolie has said not to read too much into her skin art.
Jolie has adopted three children, Maddox, 9, from Cambodia, Pax, 7, from Vietnam and Zahara, 6, from Ethiopia.

She also has three kids with her partner Brad Pitt; Shiloh, 4, born in Namibia and 2-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox, born in France.Source

Billy Joel Cancels Publication of His Memoir

While everyone who has ever raised a toast to 'Captain Jack' or asked the 'Piano Man' to sing them a song was looking forward to reading Billy Joel's memoirs -- originally slated for release this summer -- they're going to have to wait a whole lot longer. Like, forever.

Joel has canceled the publication of his autobiography, 'The Book of Joel,' even after handing in a complete manuscript.

"It took working on writing a book to make me realize that I'm not all that interested in talking about the past," Joel told the Associated Press. "The best expression of my life and its ups and downs has been and remains my music."

The publisher, HarperCollins, confirmed to the AP on Thursday that they have the finished manuscript in hand but that they have been forced to cancel their planned first run of 250,000 copies due to Joel's decision.

The book was said to contain not only the story of his rise to fame and fortune but also his failed marriages and substance abuse problems. Source

Holly Madison Is Searching for Her 'Soul Mate'

Newly single Holly Madison is looking for love, but admits it's harder than it seems due to her demanding Las Vegas work schedule.

"I would love to meet my soul mate," the 'Holly's World' star told PEOPLE. "I'm always kind of keeping my eyes open for somebody."
Madison, in addition to appearing in Peepshow Las Vegas, is currently promoting her new Vegas-themed book, 'The Showgirl Next Door.' She admits her demanding work schedule has put strains on past relationships, but that's something that comes with the territory.

"The last couple relationships I had were long distance, [and] it's not like I can make much of an effort to travel and see anybody," she said. "The guy had to do all the work, unfortunately."

Madison split with her musician boyfriend of 10 months, Jack Barakat, earlier this month. The pair met over Twitter though a mutual friend.

Madison added that she's looking for someone who understands her job and celebrates her success with her. "It definitely takes a guy who is secure and not overprotective and doesn't feel threatened by a successful woman."

But for now, Madison is enjoying the single life, which means she has more time to focus on her career. "I feel like I definitely thrive more as a human and I'm more successful when I'm single."

10 'Glee' Guest Stars Of Our Dreams

Gwyneth Paltrow experienced a major career resuscitation recently after appearing on 'Glee.' Maybe all the cards lined up at the right time, but as Holly Holliday, Gwyneth did an excellent job of melting the so-called "icy" exterior that comes with being skinny, blond and born into money.
Guest Stars Of Our Dreams

And things aren't looking so bad for John Stamos, either, who continues to reprise his role as the charming Carl. In fact, a cameo on 'Glee' seems to provide a healthy career boost even to those who don't necessarily need it, including Katie Couric and Carol Burnett (and reportedly Javier Bardem in the near future).

The list should and will go on as Ryan Murphy's show continues to dominate the ratings, the music charts and the cultural zeitgeist. Of course, we have our own fantasies about the show (get your head out of the gutter), including celebrities we'd love to see make an appearance. Here, the top 10 'Glee' guest stars of our dreams. Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth Tie the Knot

Just days after celebrating her birthday, Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth are now husband and wife!

The Oscar winner wed Toth at a small ceremony at her ranch in Ojai, Calif., Usmagazine.com confirms. Leading up to the ceremony, elegant white tents were seen being erected on Witherspoon's lush, green Ojai property, which she bought in 2008 and dubbed Libby Ranch.

Among the 120 guests comprised of family and friends were Tobey Maguire, Renee Zellweger and Alyssa Milano.

Witherspoon wore a gown designed by Monique Lhuillier and both her daughter and son with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe -- Ava, 11, and Deacon, 7 -- were part of the nuptials.

After a breakup with longtime boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal, Witherspoon began dating her groom in January 2010. Toth -- a Pennsylvania native who's employed at one of Hollywood's top talent agencies, but has reportedly never represented Witherspoon -- popped the question in December with a 4-carat, $250,0000 engagement ring.

This is Toth's first marriage. The bride's first marriage, to Phillippe, lasted seven years, ending in 2006.Source

Video: Rebecca Black Sings 'Friday' on 'Tonight Show'

With 36.5 million views of her 'Friday' video on YouTube as of this writing, Rebecca Black's reign as the current queen of Internet buzz is going strong. All the attention got her a spot on 'The Tonight Show,' where she performed the song and even got to chat with Jay Leno.

Sure, her success comes on the heels of a ditty many consider the worst song ever written. But as they say in show business, there's no such thing as bad publicity.

When Leno asked her if she'd seen some of the online parodies of her song, she said, "I think they can either be really hilarious and make me laugh like 'til I cry, but others are really lame."

Lindsay Lohan -- Warming Up to Jail

Lindsay Lohan's confidence is starting to wane -- sources close to LiLo tell us she is finally getting it through her head she can't avoid jail and is now "seriously considering" taking a plea deal.

As TMZ first reported, Judge Keith Schwartz offered LiLo and her attorney Shawn Holley a deal that includes three months in jail ... which get whittled down to 19 days because of jail overcrowding.

Lindsay has been adamant for weeks ... she would never take a plea deal because she feels she did nothing wrong. Sources close to Lindsay tell us she still maintains her innocence ... but reality is starting to sink in and Lindsay is beginning to understand the risks of going forward with a trial.

If she loses at trial, she could get more than a year in jail for the probation violation ... plus prison time for the felony grand theft.

If Lindsay accepts the deal, Holley must tell the judge on Wednesday.  Lindsay will be back in court Friday to either take a plea or declare war. Source

'Glee' 'Raised the Bar' For TV Inclusiveness With Gay Kiss

On last night's 'Glee,' the New Directions won regionals after hitting the stage with a pair of original songs -- a first for the series -- but that isn't what anyone is talking about this morning. After months of hints and winks, fans of FOX's hit musical finally got what they've been waiting for: The characters of Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Blaine (Darren Criss) kissed for the first time. And it wasn't a peck. It also wasn't overtly sexual or desperate, it wasn't rushed or clouded with turmoil, and it certainly wasn't played for laughs, the way many kisses between men are on TV. It was perfect.
"It's hard to overstate the significance of the kiss between Kurt and Blaine on 'Glee' last night," Michael Jensen, editor of Logo's AfterElton.com tells PopEater. "Even better, it wasn't the sort of kiss we saw back in the 1990s where the guys pecked each other on the lips -- or worse, the camera cutaway -- but this was a real kiss that hinted there is much more to come in this relationship. If we still needed proof how far gay characters have come on network TV, 'Glee' just gave it to us."

"'Glee' has raised the bar of what it means to be inclusive on TV, and viewers are tuning in by the millions, sending a clear message to networks that Americans not only accept gay and lesbian characters, but they are beginning to expect them," GLAAD President Jarrett Barrios tells PopEater. "It's stories like Kurt and Blaine's that continue to remind gay youth everywhere that there's nothing wrong with being who you are."

The characters portrayed by Colfer and Criss, who is nominated for Logo's annual NewNowNext Awards 2011, which honors what is up-and-coming in popular culture, in the Brink of Fame: Actor category, are arguably the highest-profile gay characters on television right now, and, as the LGBT community continues to recover from the wave of bullying-related suicides late last year, it is especially important that Kurt and Blaine represent a pair of openly gay teenagers comfortable with who they are and seemingly on the verge of a real romantic relationship grounded in mutual respect.

"The two most recent episodes have represented queer youth and coming of age in a way I've never seen on broadcast television before, let alone one of the most popular shows in the country, with a mostly young audience," AfterElton's Christie Keith wrote in her recap of 'Original Song.' Keith is also referring to last week's 'Sexy,' in which Santana (played by Naya Rivera) confessed her love for Heather Morris' character, Brittany. Also on last week's episode, Kurt's father Burt (Mike O'Malley) sat his son down for a straightforward discussion about sex, providing him pamphlets and telling him, "This is gonna suck for both of us, but we're going to get through it together, and we will both be better men because of it. ... Kurt, when you're ready, I want you to be able to do everything, but when you're ready I want you to use it as a way to connect to another person, don't throw yourself around like you don't matter." Lindsay Lohan leaves court with new offer from judge

A judge on Thursday gave Lindsay Lohan two weeks to consider an undisclosed deal to end a felony grand theft case before an upcoming hearing that could send the starlet to jail for the fourth time.

Superior Court Judge Keith Schwartz told the "Mean Girls" star that he had told her attorney and a prosecutor how he would likely sentence her if she agreed to plead guilty or no contest in the case, but said he would keep the terms confidential.
The theft case is now bound for an April 22 preliminary hearing before another judge who will decide if there is enough evidence for Lohan to stand trial or to be sent to jail for violating probation in another case.

If Lohan appeared again in his court, Schwartz said, he would know she was accepting his offer.

During a hearing Thursday before Schwartz, the actress signaled a desire to fight the charge involving a $2,500 necklace by rejecting a prosecutor's plea deal that included a guaranteed jail sentence.

Schwartz previously said he would sentence Lohan to jail if she pleaded guilty but did not make a similar threat on Thursday.

Lohan, wearing a shiny brownish-gray dress, spoke only once during the hearing, telling Schwartz she understood the schedule for the hearings.

She has pleaded not guilty to stealing the necklace from Kamofie & Co., a jewelry store near Lohan's home in the beach community of Venice.

Lohan's return to court came days after surveillance footage was aired of her trying on necklaces at the shop, which reported the necklace stolen on Jan. 22.

The necklace was eventually given by a Lohan associate to police who had already obtained a search warrant for the Venice home of the actress.

"Entertainment Tonight" aired the footage, which showed Lohan texting, pacing and talking to a store clerk for nearly 45 minutes.

The actress wore the necklace for roughly 25 minutes, according to the show, and it was around her neck when the clerk escorted Lohan out, smiled and held a door open.

The footage was obtained by a commercial images division of The Associated Press and licensed exclusively to "Entertainment Tonight."

A once-promising star of Disney films such as "Freaky Friday" and "Herbie Fully Loaded," Lohan's career has been stalled since she was arrested twice in 2007 and later charged with drunken driving and drug possession. In the past 10 months, Lohan has been jailed twice and sent to rehab twice for probation violations.

A judge ordered her to undergo three months of treatment at the Betty Ford Center, and it was within three weeks of her release that she was accused of stealing the necklace.

Prosecutors in Riverside County are considering charging Lohan for an altercation with a rehab worker in December.

If convicted of grand theft, Lohan could be sentenced to up to three years in state prison. It's the first time she has been charged with a felony.Source

Lindsay Lohan's Younger Brother Stars in New Short Film

Watch out Hollywood -- there's a new Lohan in town. While Lindsay Lohan is wrapped up in her current legal woes, her younger brother Michael is getting into the acting game with a new short film, 'Razors and Balloons.'
Lindsay's brother, who is credited as Michael C. Lohan, stars in the five-minute black-and-white short set to a song.

Proud big sis Lindsay promoted Michael and the film via Twitter yesterday.

"My lil brother Mike in this new short film!" she wrote, adding a link to the video.

'Slumdog Millionaire' Star Loses Home in Fire

'Slumdog Millionaire' star Rubina Ali's family home has reportedly been destroyed by a fire.

UsMagazine.com is reporting that Ali, 12, and her family have been left homeless after a fire blazed through the slums of Mumbai on Friday night. The fire left 21 people injured and more than 2,000 homeless.

Ali, who played the young Latika in the movie, is quoted saying, "We all were at home watching TV when a neighbor came to alert us about the fire. We all rushed out. We spent the entire night at the railway station. So far nobody has come to help us."

Ali goes on, "I have lost everything, including books and precious belongings like awards, photographs, newspaper clippings and memorabilia from the success of the film."

'Slumdog' director Danny Boyle had set up a trust fund to help some of the young actors in the film. Boyle had used children from the slums as actors in the movie.

CNN is reporting that Ali's father Rafiq Qureshi said they planned to move into a new home provided by the trust next month and the family were staying in the slums, while in transit.

Ali said she was grateful for the support she and her family have been receiving from the trust.

Who Were the Biggest Celebrities of February 2011?

According to you, most awesome readers, February's biggest stars were a Grammy-nominated movie-star pop prodigy, a sexy Super Bowl performer, a guy on a drug he named after himself, a diva who came out of an egg, and a "mean girl" you know very well. See the full list after the jump.

Without further ado, our top celebrities of February 2011:

Justin Bieber: Bieber did the unthinkable in February -- he cut his hair. But Justin did give Ellen Degeneres (who has an oddly similar haircut) his chopped locks to auction off for charity. And queue the 'awww' track. Biebs lost the Best New Artist Grammy moderately gracefully. Now, in the young days of March, he's turned 17 and launched into his angsty teen years, flipping off photographers as he headed home after his b-day dinner. This after Justin and Selena Gomez hit a post-Oscar party red carpet as a couple -- in coordinating ensembles.
Charlie Sheen: Yes, even before March became Official Charlie Sheen Winning Month, his antics were the second-hottest celebrity aspect of February.
Lady Gaga: How does Gaga stay in such tip-top monster shape? Whiskey and yoga, of course. Gaga divulged her secrets to staying slim after wearing a condom-inspired outfit on Good Morning America. Gaga made prophylactics fashionable while talking about safe sex on the show. This on the heels of incubating in an egg for hours before her Grammy performance.
Fergie: What's one word to describe Fergie's half-time Super Bowl performance with the Black Eyed Peas? FAIL. The songstress couldn't seem to get on pitch throughout the show in which sounds system and stage lighting technical difficulties also knocked the performance down quite a few notches. The Peas, who are known for breaking it down (usually in a good way) in concert should put their solo acts on hold and spend some time rehearsing.
Lindsay Lohan: LiLo found herself facing off against the law yet again after allegedly swiping an expensive necklace. If convicted Lindsay, could spend up to three years in jail.

Bollywood's beauty queens: Hits and flops

Of the many beauty queens who made it to the silver-screen, only a few tasted success. Check out who all made it and who all didn't.
Though her acting skills are debatable, she has carved her own niche when it comes to celebritydom. No other beauty queen has made it big like Ash, and she's even had a brush with Hollywood, though not as flattering as her domestic one.

Though Diya Mirza, the Miss Asia Pacific 2000 was lucky with her debut flick 'Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein', she somehow failed to stay in the race. But, thanks to her charm, she is still a darling of many designers.

If you were asked to pick a memorable role of Lara, you'll definitely have a hard time. Though she was the one who crushed Priyanka Chopra's Miss India dreams in 2000, the latter outwitted her in acting skills, and went way ahead of Lara in Bollywood.

Femina Miss India 2002 Neha Dhupia's Bollywood affair is a decade old, and she still keeps going on with no big hits to boast of.

Parvathy Omanakuttan is the latest beauty queen to enter Bollywood. Her 'United Six' failed to make an impression. She is 23, and has got many years in her hand, but it's going to be a hard race for her if she is aiming for an acting career.
Yukta Mookhey, the Miss World 1999 is sinking into oblivion. She has only 4 hindi movies, a Bhojpuri movie, and an item number in a Tamil flick to her credit so far, and none of them were hits.
Priyanka's success scale lie between that of Ash and Sush. After a few initial flops, she has finally found her place in Bollywood and was lucky to prove her mettle by grabbing a variety of roles in a relatively young career.
Though Sush has conquered our hearts with her charm, she was a failure on big screen. Still, she maintains to stay on showbiz through endorsements and charity works.

Dianna Agron in Hiding to Escape from 'Loose Cannon' Ex Alex Pettyfer

'Glee' star Dianna Agron is reportedly in hiding from her ex-boyfriend Alex Pettyfer.

UsMagazine.com is quoting a source who is saying that ever since Agron split from Pettyfer two weeks ago, she has been "staying at a hotel under an alias."

And the reason for the secrecy is that since the split, Pettyfer has become "a psycho loose cannon."

An eyewitness is quoted saying that last week Pettyfer got into a heated argument with actor Sebastian Stan at a night club. Pettyfer went on to accuse Stan of allegedly hooking up with Agron.

A friend of the actress claims that "Dianna is terrified of [Alex]." The friend also said that Pettyfer has "absolutely lost it" and even threatened Agron over the phone.

Pettyfer's rep is saying that the actor made no threats.

It was revealed yesterday that it was a racy photo shoot that caused Pettyfer and Agron's breakup. Last year, Pettyfer stepped into a whole new world for a daring photo shoot with celebrity photographer Tyler Shields, but during the shoot, the 'I Am Number Four' actor got a little too close for comfort with models Lydia Hearst and Leven Rambin.

Apparently, even though the two weren't dating at the time, Agron was more than a little upset by the racy photos. Source

Lindsay Judge to Broker Plea Deal With Jail Time

The judge who will determine Lindsay Lohan's fate in the probation and grand theft cases will be the middleman in plea negotiations today between Lindsay and the prosecutor ... and sources connected with the case tell TMZ ... the judge thinks Lindsay should do time.
Lindsay will appear today before Judge Keith L. Schwartz, and sources connected with the case tell TMZ that during the hearing prosecutor Danette Meyers will present Lindsay's lawyer, Shawn Holley, with a formal offer to plea bargain the case.

Sources tell us Meyers has already told Holley any deal will include significant jail time ... but Lindsay steadfastly refuses to accept a plea that involves time behind bars.

Sources connected with the case tell us Judge Schwartz will propose that Lindsay accept jail time for the probation violation and three years felony probation for the grand theft case. But here's the BIG problem with that -- if Lindsay gets in trouble during the probationary period, she'll go to state prison.

We're told Holley has not seen the surveillance video yet, but Meyers will present her with her very own CD tomorrow -- before the hearing. If Lindsay doesn't accept a plea, the judge will set a date for a preliminary hearing. Source

Miley Cyrus Receives 'Inspiration' Award

She may be dealing with some drama in her personal life, but that doesn't mean Miley Cyrus isn't seen as a role model for today's youth -- at least according to one organization. The teenage actress was honored at a gala over the weekend, where she received the first ever Global Action Youth Leadership Award.
According to Digital Spy, fellow actress and Disney alum Hilary Duff presented the award -- which honors inspirational figures in the youth community -- to Cyrus at a ceremony in Los Angeles.
